BROCKET 99: RACIAL STEREOTYPING IN THE GUISE OF A PARODY?, PATEL, WIKIPEDIA AND MORE

They all want in on the answers don't they? The CBC, The Toronto Sun, The Lethbridge Herold, and even the lil' Times Colonist. Everyone thinks they know what Brocket 99 is all about. "Journalist" Michael D. Reid of the Times says Brocket 99 is "racial stereotyping in the guise of a parody of a radio show hosted by aboriginals" While there is no doubt that Brocket 99 is racial stereotyping, I defy Mr. Reid to prove that it's in the "guise of a parody of a radio show". You weren't there Mr. Reid. You don't know for sure. Are you psychic? Maybe Brocket 99 is a parody of the radio industry itself. And maybe Natives were chosen to give the tape a comedic tone. Perhaps everyone who has any common sense knows that only some Aboriginals fit the stereotype of Brocket 99. And, perish the thought that many Native people themselves find Brocket 99 funny. What about them? What do you say of those folks Mr. Reid? Do you, as many of the elitist politically correct say "Those poor Indians. They don't understand. If they only knew how terrible this is." They know Michael. They get it. They just have a different way of looking at it. They take your "lemons" and make tasty medicine. Because to them Brocket 99 is harmless and it's funny. What do you say to Southpark, All in the Family or countless other television shows that have made race into humor? What do you say to The Dead Dog Cafe' Comedy Hour? So many people that don't like or understand something will jump on a popular bandwagon. There are indeed two sides to every story. When it comes to Brocket 99. There are more than two sides.

Nilesh Patel, director of the movie Brocket 99: Rockin the Country has said on several occasions that he has taken an unbiased view of Brocket 99 in his film. In almost the same breath he relates that someone must expose the injustice towards Natives. And that's what he's doing. Whatever. I happen to know Patel through emails and a short telephone call. Many of my "spies" know Patel better. One thing we all know is that Nilesh Patel does not really care about Brocket, or the parody. Nilesh is intent on making a name for himself so that he doesn't have to film weddings. In my opinion, Nilesh Patel is bilking Natives out of their money so that he can get the word out about... Nilesh Patel. He never asked me to appear in his documentary. Why? Because Patel know that Bryce Nicholson (owner of the sloppy and crude Brocket99.ca) was easy pickin's. He knew there was no fight there. But with me? He knows that I would take him to the mat. And frankly, Patel was just as sloppy and crude when he first contacted me.  He doesn't want any part of me or this site. One day he'll be in for a very big surprise. And by the way; Mr. Patel has apparently made it known that he lost my email and doesn't know how to get in touch with me. Well, I own this site. He knows that. I own Brocket 99 and he knows that. And my email is at the bottom of most pages on this site. How difficult can it be? Hey Nilesh! Click this sentence to contact me. Clear enough?

This is the documentary that we will be involved with if and when it ever gets made.

Cowboy Myth X - Lost in Smith. - So I had a rapport with Cowboy Smith for a few years. I actually thought we could agree to disagree. But once the aforementioned Nilesh Patel got Smith on board with the Rockin' the Cunt Tree project, I lost my favor with the ole' Cowboy and Patel took over. Cowboy mentioned on his blog that I was "lost in myth" and was wrong to believe that Brocket 99 was a free speech issue. He has every right to his opinion but is very wrong about what he said. And that's my opinion. Funny. Here's a guy (SmithX) that trusted me with his biggest secret. He told me who Persey Klaw was. He swore me to secrecy. I never told a soul. But he did. He blabbed it to the world. I guess he figured that working with Patel would gain him notoriety and some bucks. Well,. I send you my best Cowboy. I'm here anytime. Let's take our arguments public. Let's see what happens.

Wikipedia wikipedia. Or who let the revisionists out? - Last and certainly least I bring you the wikicrazies. Seems like Charles kang, a friend of mine wanted to update folks on wiki about Brocket 99. My opinion is that he was much more interested in promoting the character of Lenny Rednuts. Well, the wikinuts got wind of this and began deleting all of the information that Kang made available. They rewrote it and for some reason they must have been reborn as the ghost of Ernie Scar and the ones who speak for the parody. Let me make this totally clear to everyone. There are two people that speak for Brocket 99. Ernie Scar and Michael Anthony. (That would be me) I've had the responsibility of carrying the torch of this parody for years now. I have been on National Radio talking about Brocket 99 and have been very willing to go public and take all of the poisonous arrows for a tape that's not even two hours long. And I will continue to do so for a long time to come. And if you'll indulge my freedom to speak, IT'S 1986 YOU FUCKIN' PRICKS! JESUS GOD! CHECK THE RELEASE DATES ON THE PLAYLIST! IDIOTS!!!

The only other legit voice and last word on Brocket 99 is the man who created it. He'd probably be a lot better off if he had just made Jake Radio instead. But he didn't. Ernie Scar has watched with amusement in the shadows as his creation took life. He all but forgot about it for years until an upstart named Michael Anthony Brokenhead started a little site and took the google count from about 139 in 2003 to over 12,000 and counting today.

So, if the Canadian self righteous can't deal with Brocket 99 being out there then screw them! They'd better explain why they are allowing Little Mosque on the Prairie to continue. For that matter, they had better shut the mouths of the CBC. They rattle some cages every once in awhile. Why do they continuously pick the bones of a regional tape that took off? I believe many of them do it to ignore much bigger problems, like how to improve race relations. This tape is much like a two edged sword. It can be used for good or it can be used to hurt. One way or another it is here to stay. It will never go away.

A NATIVE COMEDIAN SAYS LAUGHING AT YOURSELF IS "GOOD MEDICINE". WHY CAN'T WE LAUGH AT OURSELVES REGARDLESS OF WHO IS POKING THE FUN? EVEN IF THE COLOR OF THEIR SKIN IS DIFFERENT, WE'RE ALL PART OF THE SAME HUMAN RACE.

And as I end, know that you who have spoken, have reawakened the giant which is this website. There are many, many more updates to come!

Michael Anthony
